Device-Free Sensing in OFDM Cellular Network

This paper considers device-free sensing in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) cellular network to enable integrated and communication (ISAC). A novel two-phase framework is proposed localize the passive targets that cannot transmit/receive reference signals to/from base stations (BSs), where ranges of are estimated based on their reflected OFDM BSs Phase I, location each target its different II. Specifically, we design a model-free range estimation approach by leveraging channel technique for determining delay values all two-way BS-target-BS paths, which does not rely any BS-target model. In II, reveal ghost may be falsely detected some cases as reflect same BSs, thus do know how match with right target. Interestingly, show above data association issue fundamental limitation sensing: under ideal case perfect probability exist proved negligible when randomly located. Moreover, practical imperfect propose efficient algorithm joint localization Numerical results our can achieve very high accuracy targets, increases system bandwidth.
